The Saint-Jacques Estate
Between history and modernity…
In the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise, in Rully (71 – Saône et Loire), Burgundy, the Domaine Saint- Jacques opens its doors to you, steeped in history.
This winegrowing estate has been around for a very long time. It was acquired in 1955 by Christophe Amédé Grandmougin, then taken over by his son Christophe in 1991.
In the past, it was also a stopover on the long pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, from which it takes its name.
The magnificent Saint-Jacques statue nestling in the front of the winery is a reminder of the protection afforded to pilgrims.
You can explore the 13th-century Romanesque cellars with their barrel vaults supported by central pillars, and admire the traditional 18th-century winery with its old presses.
Finally, you can easily visit the vineyard that surrounds the house.
It is mainly made up of parcels classified as 1er cru.
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Aligoté.
The white wine is produced on plots planted with the ‘Chardonnay’ grape variety at a density of 10,000 vines/ha.
The red wine is produced on plots planted with the ‘Pinot noir’ grape variety, also at a density of 10,000 vines/ha.
The ‘Aligoté’ grape variety is also part of our production.
